(Jacket – Gift, Mittens and Hat - Herberger’s)
I received this coat as a Christmas gift from my grandpa and grandma when I was still in high school. I know where my grandmother got it because I was at the antique store with her when I spotted it and absolutely fell in love with the antique/vintage feminine and Christmas look of this jacket. When I left that antique shop that day I never would have thought that this beautiful coat would be neatly tucked in a beautiful package for me at Christmas.
I really don’t know anything about it besides that it’s a Hudson Bay. I haven’t been able to date the jacket, though admittedly I haven’t looked very hard since I don’t plan on selling it. I am curious as to the age though so if any of my readers are Hudson Bay jacket geniuses let me know.
I truly do love this coat. It doesn’t get worn often because I’m always a little nervous to since it may be old and have value, but I do pull it out for all of my Christmas parties and outings. I kind of feel like I need a muff to go with it and a group of carolers, or maybe a sleigh, ha, ha!
On a side note…when I was looking back at all the picture selections for this post I was laughing so hard. I thought with my Christmas coat and our fresh fallen snow it might be fun to try to get a picture of me like these…

Well lets just say it’s a whole lot harder to look cute while blowing snow then you would think. I was laughing quite hard while trying to capture this image, and even harder when looking at my photo failure!
Seriously, it’s really hard to blow that snow at just the right moment. In most photos I look like a deer caught in headlights or like I got caught doing something I wasn’t supposed to be. (Well, maybe I wasn’t supposed to be doing this!) Not only is it hard to blow at just the right moment, but I can guarantee your those girls aren’t blowing real snow and the fake stuff must blow a little easier than real snow because I couldn’t get it to fluff up right. You only get the cute look, like those girls have when you are softly blowing. I practically blew up a lung trying to get that snow to fly!

Thanks for making me laugh this morning!
too cute! I bet the models blowing snow aren’t blowing real snow.
Glad I could make you laugh:-)
Oh, my goodness. I adore your coat! So pretty.

Amazing coat! Too funny, though, about the blowing snow picture. I swear that goes for almost any type of blog pictures – I take DOZENS to get one I don’t hate, am not blinking or squinting, or otherwise making some sort of weird face in.
Gorgeous coat! And the snow blowing adventures cracked me up.
You never know, they probably photoshopped the snow in to the pics!
Love the coat! And you look great in those modelesque pics! I swear it cant be real snow that they’re blowing….
