A week and a half ago I had the privilege of photographing this precious little week and a half old baby girl and had so much fun kissing and loving on her the whole time!  Don’t freak out, I wont make it a common practice to kiss and love on all my baby clients but this little cutie is the daughter of my first cousin, Dustin, and his wife, Tina, so I could do that with this little cutie!

Tina had made Savannah a beautiful blanket and wanted to be sure to capture Savannah with her blanket…

Love her dimples in this first picture!

Savannah showed us that she’s all girl and loves to be surrounded by tulle and play dress up already…

And like any girl is oh so pretty in pink!!!

Love this sweet little baby yawn with big out stretched arms!

I saved my favorite for last!  I absolute LOVE this smile that I captured!  It is just too ADORABLE!!!

I sure do love this new little cousin of mine!  And have been so excited to show her off to all of you!

Congratulations, Dustin and Tina, she is so sweet and beautiful!

Sorry I’ve been absent this week, I’ve been off in Minnesota having fun with my kids at my grandpa and grandma’s!  While I was out we had such a great week going to Como Zoo & The Children’s Museum, visiting local parks and other fun outings.  We ate lots of good food and best of all we were able to spend time with Grandpa and Grandma!  It was a super, super fun week!

But I am back home to computer and internet and I have one of my favorite outfits of the summer to share with you!  The blouse is definitely my favorite this year, it’s been worn many, many times and on most slightly cool days that have called for a pair of jeans I have worn this very outfit!  It’s bright and fun and I LOVE it!

Yes, the title of this post is a mouthful, but I have no idea what else to call this shirt.  As I promised I’m delivering a tutorial on how to make the shirt from the outfit I posted on Wednesday.  So for all of you who liked up this post both here at WordPress and on Facebook here’s how to make this shirt…

Step 1 –

Take a basic tee that fits you at least two sizes larger than your normal size.

Step 2 –

Fold it in half with side seams touching each other.  I then laid a low rise shirt on top to help get the cut I wanted…

Step 3 –

…then cut from front to back.  I followed my shirts line but if you don’t have a shirt to follow just be sure to start high in the front and work your way low in the back.  I actually made my new tee slightly longer in the back than the striped shirt on top is.  Start long, because you can always go shorter.  Once you have your length determined you are done!  No sewing involved!  LOVE it!

Step 4 –

Now to work on the sleeves.  Cut off the sleeve hem just along the inside of the stitching.  Next cut up the top side of your sleeve, all the way up to where the sleeve meets the body.

Step 5 –

Cut the bottom seam of the sleeve off at an angle to blend nicely with the rest of the sleeve.

Step 6 –

Take the two top part sections of the sleeve that have been cut up to the body (sections shown in step 4) and loosely tie 2 times. Be sure not to tie it tight to body.  You want to leave the hole, because it adds chic cuteness!  Repeat steps 4-6 on the second sleeve.

And voila, you’ve just done about 5-10 minutes of easy work for a super cute tee!

I hope I’ve explained it well but if you have any questions ask away:-)

It’s been extremely hot here.  Well maybe not so hot but extremely muggy and on Monday it left me wanting to wear something loose, baggy and comfy that wasn’t too dressy.  I have loose and baggy shirts but most of them are silky, blousey type shirts, which are my fave, but on Monday, I wanted a cute t-shirt that was loose and baggy yet still chic.

Looking around and feeling discontent with what I saw in my closet I decided to just make something myself!  I took an old t-shirt that has been siting in a bag in my closet for quite a while and was still wearing its tags.  Yep, it’s never been worn.  The reason it’s never been worn is because I bought it in a large because at the time I bought it I thought it would be really comfy to have this huge oversized t-shirt for camping, but even for camping I am just not a t-shirt kind of gal.  I like even my basic tees to have some design and cuteness.  Yeah, I’m a bit silly that way.  Call me crazy!

Any-who… It sat in my closet unworn until I had this wonderful epiphany on Monday to turn it into this cute little shirt with a slightly cropped front and extended back!  I also love the tied sleeves, though I’ll admit that is not my own idea.  However, I still feel I get bragging rights for this idea as a whole and can’t wait to pair it with my black maxi skirt.  Maybe I’ll do that for church on Sunday!

I’m thinking of blogging a tutorial on how to make this shirt.  If you are interested in learning how all you have to do is like this post. 5 likes and you’ll get a tutorial on Friday!!!

I happen to have bought a second large tee in turquoise at the same time and am pretty sure I’ll be making that an extended back cropped tee also!

My little man is growing up way too fast but he still embodies the sentiment above and I treasure every little moment with him.  Tuesday, we giggled and laughed through his six year photo shoot that was an expression of him and all that I love about this sweet little boy God has blessed my husband and I with!

He wanted to have some pictures taken with his best buddy Woody and his counterpart Buzz, he even wanted to wear the Buzz Lightyear costume his cousin passed down to him a couple of years ago for the pictures.  Sure, it’s getting small but he still loves it so we laid out his quilt and all his Toy Story snugglies and as you can see he’s overjoyed at having his best friend, Woody and all his other Toy Story things in these pictures…

When going through some picture ideas on Pinterest he saw the photos of the little boys who are dressed like  Superman/Clark Kent and liked the idea of doing that.  When I told him we don’t have a superman t-shirt or costume he said I can just where my Spiderman costume, which resulted in this…

This gave me an opportunity to dress him up a bit preppy and put him in his Easter outfit for some photos which are pretty cute…

I promise I did not tell him how to pose in the photo on the right, he had that swag all on his own, haha!

The next two are my favorite from this outfit and while I set up the chairs and told him to kick his feet up he, once again, did the whistle and tilt of his hat all on his own.  He’s too funny!

These ones of him running on the train tracks and playing on the train are my favorite!!!

Yep, that’s my little man!  It’s no wonder I love him so much!!!

(Tank – old, Old Navy, Skirt & Sandals – Maurices,  Purse – 31 Gifts, Earrings – old, Claire’s)

I am not lying when I say this is the very first maxi skirt I have ever owned.  Yep, my very first one that I got way back in February and have worn several times but am just now posting it for the first time.  (I know, I’m sorry, I’ve been horrible about posting my outfits this summer.  Mostly because my outfits have consisted of bathing suits and tanning oil as I work in my yard:-) )

I have never owned a maxi skirt because they are waaaaaaay to long for my miniature legs.  But when I asked a fellow friend, who is as short as I am, how she found maxi skirts and dresses that fit her in length, I was dumbstruck by her obvious answer…”I hem them.”  Why had this thought never occurred to me?!  I hem pants, why wouldn’t I think to hem a skirt?!  Well, I did and now I have a second maxi skirt and a dress too!!!

When I brought my kiddos to the special puppet show at the library today I got a few comments on how they loved my skirt and that I’m always dressed so cute.  What they didn’t know is that the main reason I chose to wear this outfit today was because I was too lazy to shave my legs, ha!

I can’t believe June has passed and it’s already July, yet here it is!  And I’m busy getting ready for this years 4th of July camping trip!

I just can’t let this month take off without posting a fun little fourth of july themed post!

To start I don’t think I ever shared our yummy little patriotic s’mores bar from last years 4th of July camping trip (I looked back in posts and couldn’t find anything.), so I thought I’d share a few photos of it!

We had patriotic themed marshmallows on skewers…

…and in a bowl!

I also dipped graham crackers in chocolate and sprinkled them with patriotic sprinkles, beside them for s’more fun (catch that pun;-p) is short bread and mint girl scout cookies!  YUMMY!!!

And just so that we had a slightly healthy treat, I dipped some strawberries in cool-whip and sprinkled them with blue sprinkles!!!  My kids LOVE cool-whip dipped strawberries!

In anticipation for this years camping trip, and to start preparing, the kids and I spent most of yesterday baking and decorating our annual 4th of July sugar cookies.  We made over 200 sugar cookies!  Don’t worry we don’t plan on eating all of them ourselves.  We are camping with 3 other families and we’re attending a resort picnic so we needed plenty to share:-)

I’m sure you’ve all seen the adorable patriotic snacks floating around Pinterest, I thought I’d show you what pinteresting things I plan on making to celebrate the 4th this year, that is besides the 200 sugar cookies!

I couldn’t find patriotic themed m&m’s so my three year old is currently sorting through a giant bag of m&m’s so we can make these up this afternoon!

I have licorice and whatever blue and red m&m’s we don’t use we’ll set in cute little dishes also!

My son has been asking for chocolate cake with strawberries so I thought I’d make a version of this and replace the raspberries with strawberries!

Of course there will be fireworks, sparklers, and much, much more patriotic fun!

What do you plan on doing to celebrate this Independence Day?  Whatever it is we hope you have a very…
