My hubby and I decided that we are going to try a new appetizer, hor devours or snack each Sunday during football.  We love trying new things and football games are a great excuse to have those fun little snacks you may not normally have.

Mini Breakfast Bread Bowl:

I got the idea for these from a picture I saw on Pinterest but the picture didn’t link to a recipe so I never pinned it.  But the idea looked delicious so I decided to try to duplicate it and my entire family loved them!

Ingredients:

1 loaf of bread dough (can be frozen or homemade)

sour cream

9 eggs, scrambeled

5 pieces of bacon, fried and broken into small pieces

1/2 lb ground sausage, browned

4 oz grated sharp cheddar cheese

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°

In a medium mixing bowl add your scrambled eggs, bacon pieces and browned sausage.  Mix together by hand with large spoon.

Grease a muffin tin, 18 muffins worth.  Grab large walnut sized pieces of your bread and pull and pat into a thin circle and line your greased muffin tin with these.  Brush sour cream all over the inside of the bread then fill with scrambeled egg mixture.

Top with grated cheese and bake for 10-12 mins.  Cool for a bit in muffin tin before removing and enjoying!

My hubby and I decided that we are going to try a new appetizer, hor devours or snack each Sunday during football.  We love trying new things and football games are a great excuse to have those fun little snacks you may not normally have.  We missed the first two weeks because we weren’t at home but we made one last week and this week.  I’ll post week one’s here and create a separate post for week 2 and each week to follow from here ’til the end of football season (unless of course we happen to not be at home again).

Our first week’s appetizer wasn’t so new but we’ve been hungry for it so decided to make…

Layered Taco Dip:

I think everyone’s had this chip dip before but if you haven’t you are about to find a new snack that will delight you taste buds!  I don’t make this very often because when I do I eat waaaay too much.

Ingredients:

8 oz cream cheese

16 oz sour cream

2 packets taco seasoning

1 lb ground beef

lettuce, tomato and whatever other veggies you like on tacos

grated cheese

salsa (optional)

Directions:

Brown your meat and add 1 packet of taco seasoning, cook according to directions on packet.  While meat is cooling cream together the cream cheese and sour cream.  Add the other packet of taco seasoning until well blended.

Dice lettuce, tomatoes and other vegetables you’d like to go on your layered taco dip.

On a cookie sheet or large serving platter evenly spread the cream cheese mixture.  Add the taco meat on top of this then layer your vegetables on top of this.  I start with lettuce, then tomato, etc. ending with salsa before adding the grated cheese as my last layer.

Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy!
